Founder
Little cell of mine foundation (LCOM) is a non-profit organization that was founded in November 2019 by Dr. Ivie.
LCOM is a sickle cell disease foundation that is focused on creating awareness and providing support for both sickle cell warriors and their families.
We aim to improve the lives of cell warriors by ensuring adequate support while living with sickle cell disease.
One of the areas that we find passionate is the unspoken mental aspect of living with a chronic illness. Mental health in relation to sickle cell disease isn’t talked about enough and mental outlets/support is almost non-existent.
Our goal is not just to provide financial, mental and social support, but to build a community, a safe home, where warriors can be heard and held.
We understand the burden a chronic illness can have on an individual and their loved ones, we hope to make the weight lighter.
Our Mission
To provide support to individuals living with sickle cell disease.
To create awareness and put an end to children being born with sickle cell disease
To help families and loved ones navigate living life with a cell warrior.
To encourage warriors that despite the pain, light will still shine through.
